Jenifer Mandujano Alumni Story
WAEF support meant an opportunity to achieve my dream of becoming a nurse.
Jenifer, from Yakima, Washington, graduated from the University of Washington Seattle Campus with a major in pre-nursing, aspiring to become a registered nurse specializing in obstetrics. She demonstrated academic excellence with a cumulative GPA of 3.85 and earned recognition on the Dean’s List. Jenifer gained valuable experience working as a nursing assistant at Chandler House, a nursing home for individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia, where she developed skills in both physical and emotional health care, especially during the COVID pandemic. She was actively involved in her academic community as a peer facilitator for physiology, supporting fellow students and fostering a sense of belonging. Her journey reflected resilience, leadership, and gratitude for the support she received as she navigated the challenges of college life and prepared for her nursing career.
